St. George

So last week a couple friends and I went to St. George to visit my cousins Jenn and Zach.  We stayed pretty busy.

We went hiking.

 It was quite the view.

Had to do some yoga poses when we reached the top.

My awesome cousin Jenn! (aka BFF Jenn)

We climbed down this back side of the dunes, it was fun! (this picture doesn't do the actual height any justice)

Awkward poses at the end of the hike :)

Then we went and played tennis!

We thought it'd be cool to take a picture through a tennis racket, I'd say it was a success.

Meet Lucy! One of the craziest yet lovable dogs you'll ever meet.  Emphasis on crazy :)

Then we hiked the Dixie Red Hills.  (It wasn't really much of a hike, but it's enough of a climb that you can see all of St. George from the top.)

St. George temple right after the lights had gotten turned on, this pic just doesn't do it justice.
Someone painted Dixie on the side, hence the name, Dixie Red Hills.

After a day in the sun, Jenn definitely had a sunburn line, she even put sunscreen on religiously throughout the day. :)
Meet Zach my other BFF. He is married to BFF Jenn.

Of course we had to go golfing!

My new golfing buddy, it was a blast.

Zach tried to hit me with the golf cart....

My tribute to Tim Tebow after I had an incredible shot onto the green!

Zach's tribute to Tom Brady after he overshot the green :)

We went to lunch at a pizza place that has gluten free pizza and I order what they said would feed one person... slightly bigger than I thought it'd be...that's a lot of food...although I did eat it all!

Needless to say, I had a blast and will for sure be visiting again.  Thanks Jenn and Zach for an amazing and much needed vacation!

Introducing Andrew Ryan Nelson

So my aunt and uncle have been trying to have a baby for a very long time.  They just adopted a baby from Idaho Falls, Idaho.  They named him Andrew Ryan Nelson.

He was born April 20, 2012
12:08 pm
7 lbs. 1 oz
20 inches long

here's a picture of the happy family, I love the twinkle in Annie's eye and Ryan's smile, trying not to be too happy. ;)
We are so excited for him to join our family! He is so cute! We sure do love him!

Of course my family had to celebrate by throwing a baby shower, I should have taken more pictures, oh well, here are a few, granted they're kind of the same and yet, show their absolute joy so well.
Here's the little family, look at Annie's face, pure joy! Drew is beginning his climb up Ryan's chest into a "more comfy position"
"Ah! Sweet relief I found it"
Close up of the two boys.  It's crazy how much Drew looks like his daddy. :)

We like to be creative with our food.  My aunt Melanie made baby moses out of a watermelon and a cantaloupe.
And made a snake from the sandwich, this one was really cool!
Of course I had to include a picture of my sidekick Kami, she is just to pretty not to get a picture of, and I of course had to share it with you all.

Needless to say, we had a blast, good food, s/o for Melanie and Grandma and Grandpa Page for getting Gluten free food for me and Melanie.  :) So good!
It was a great day to spend with family that I don't see very often and just enjoy the company.

A Day in the Life...

One aspect of my job is landscape maintenance, the other day Ammon, Chris Jensen, and I, later joined by Levi Hawkes after Chris had to leave, had a crazy lawn job.  We got some good before pictures, but they don't entirely give it justice and some points it was up to my hip, it was insane!

Here is one picture that is a close up of how tall the grass was from the ground level.

This is as close of a representation we could get of what the entire yard looked like, only imagine taller grass.
Here is a distance view from a tree in the middle of the yard.

Here is a view from the side of the fence.

This is the difference the lawn experienced.  The one on the left is where we started at and the one on the right is what the grass is at right now. Crazy!

Here is a view of the front (on the street) in progress.

 Here is one side finished.

Another view of the finished product.

 Another view.

This is the best picture of what it looks like.

 One more view

This is the back of my truck before our last load got dumped on.

Here is my brothers truck before the last loads got dumped on.
I am kicking myself for not taking a picture of our silverado's bed.  It is an extended bed and we had it full to the top of the cab, angled downward so it wouldn't entirely blow away while we were driving.

Needless to say it took us forever! 17.5 hours to be exact to mow the 3/4 acres of lawn. Oh the joys of landscape maintenance. :)
